In 1935 a new class of autos by Chevrolet was presented. The first models which represented a new type of autos were Suburban Carryall, De Luxe and Special. And eventually in 1950 practically all models of the company were equipped with automatic transmission. Later it came time for Chevrolet Corvette to appear on the market. However at first this model was not very popular with consumers even with automatic transmission and modernized 3.8 l engine. But after constructors decided to replace it with 8-cilyndre V-engine, this model started rapidly to gain popularity.
Starting from 1956 Corvette is considered to be a descent sports car with 290 HP and very attractive and aggressive design. Later Chevrolet started to exhibit this car at the major auto shows and Corvette was the example of American style in auto producing.
During 1968 Chevrolet suffered from several unsuccessful models. It was decided to use as many innovations and technical developments as possible. However such tactics wasn’t very successful. A number of sold cars were decreasing very fast. Consumers were not interested in Chevrolet anymore. It took a lot of time in order to renew its good reputation and become one of the leading car producing companies.
